Even though many think butter is bad and contains bad fats, in fact it is not bad and it is not bad for your health! Saturated fats are actually good for you – especially butter! The fats in butter for example are good for our bones, eyes, brain, heart, and gut health. Put what the media says aside and check out the amazing properties in butter besides being an excellent source of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K of course!
1 - Rich in lecithin (lecithin is needed to metabolize fat)
2 – High in trace minerals (particularly selenium)
3- Contains arachidonic acid (needed for prostaglandin production)
4- Contains short and medium chain fatty acids that the body uses for energy
5- A source of conjugated linoleic acid or CLA, which is known for its anti-carcinogenic properties
6- Provides butyric and lauric acids, which are antifungal and antimicrobial substances
This not to mention that butter has a great taste, adding flavor and satiability to foods, and fantastic for cooking and baking with. Look for our new book coming soon where you can learn all about fats.
So go ahead and eat that butter!
